Philippine Airlines, today:

Philippine Airlines (PAL), the Philippines’ flag carrier, is set to soar to new heights after receiving a prestigious invitation to join the oneworld® Alliance, officially announced today at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

No date yet. PAL will be the 17th airline to join the alliance.¹

1. PAL’s press release refers to itself as the 16th member. They’re counting Alaska and Hawaiian as one entity, but in my view, 17 is the more useful number for travelers. ↩︎
